About
Leonard R. Anderson is a founding member and attorney at Barlow Anderson, LLC in Anchorage. His practice focuses on estate planning, elder law, special needs planning, probate, Medicaid planning, guardianship and conservatorship, asset protection, and business law. With more than 30 years of experience, he helps clients organize personal and business affairs, plan for incapacity or death, and address legal issues involving vulnerable family members and long-term financial planning.
Anderson earned a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1994 and a B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University in 1991. His accounting background complements his legal work by supporting analysis of assets, business interests, and financial planning considerations. That combined training is particularly useful in estate planning and business matters where legal documents, tax-sensitive decisions, ownership structures, and long-term financial objectives often need to be considered together.
Anderson advises clients on wills and estate plans, probate administration, special needs and Medicaid planning, guardianships, conservatorships, asset protection, and business law. He is admitted in Alaska and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Tax Court. His practice emphasizes timely communication and practical planning designed to make clients’ wishes and legal arrangements clear.
Leonard R. Anderson serves on the national Board of Directors of the Special Needs Alliance and has been a past president and board member of the Anchorage Bar Association. He also participates in Alaska probate and elder law activities and speaks on estate planning and probate. His leadership and long experience support a client-centered practice focused on careful planning, clear communication, and legal solutions for complex family, disability, and business concerns.
