About
Kenneth J. Gordon is a partner and co-chair of the Technology group at Goodwin Procter LLP, bringing more than three decades of experience advising technology companies, venture capitalists, and investment banks. His practice spans general corporate representation, business matters, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. Kenneth represents both private and public companies across industries such as software, healthcare IT, fintech, security, and e-commerce, helping clients structure, finance, and grow their businesses.
Kenneth earned his B.S. in 1985 from Lehigh University before pursuing his J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law in 1991. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is also a Certified Public Accountant, giving him additional insight into the financial and regulatory issues impacting clients. Before joining Goodwin Procter LLP in 2005, he was a partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault and previously worked as an accountant with KPMG in Hartford and Boston.
Kenneth has advised on more than 500 completed financings and numerous high-profile IPOs, including those for Carbon Black, Dynatrace, Fleetmatics, and Imprivata. His mergers and acquisitions experience includes both buy-side and sell-side representation, with clients ranging from startups to global corporations. He regularly counsels on public offerings, convertible debt transactions, and venture financings, working with leading investors and major investment banks such as Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Credit Suisse.
Consistently recognized for his expertise, Kenneth J. Gordon has been ranked by Chambers USA and named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers for Technology Law in Boston. He has also been listed among Massachusetts Super Lawyers and recognized by Legal 500 US. In addition to his client work, Kenneth is active in pro bono service, supporting organizations like THINKmd, Year Up, and Project Citizenship, while also speaking regularly on corporate and technology law topics.
