Gary R. Fischer

Gary R. Fischer is a Managing Partner and trial lawyer with over twenty years of legal experience. His practice covers business litigation with a strong focus on employment and labor disputes. He also counsels organizations in labor relations, including negotiating collective bargaining agreements. In addition, he represents individuals in select personal injury and workers’ compensation cases involving serious harm or fatalities.

Gary began his academic path at Central College, where he received a B.A. in economics in 1987. He later earned his J.D., with honors, from Drake University in 1990. While studying law, he gained recognition as a National Member of the Order of Barristers for excellence in courtroom advocacy. He also received the Hudson Appellate Advocacy Award after an argument before the Iowa Supreme Court.

Gary has expanded his expertise beyond practice by teaching law-related courses. He served as an instructor for the Legal Assistant Program at Des Moines Area Community College, covering subjects such as Business Law, Torts, and Litigation. He has also been an adjunct professor for Central College, guiding students in Mock Trial Practicum and sharing his courtroom experience with future advocates.

Gary is admitted to practice before the Iowa Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. His skill has been acknowledged through an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the respect of his peers for his legal knowledge and professional judgment.
