Ken Herring is an attorney whose practice focuses on elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning, veterans’ benefits, and probate matters. He helps seniors and their families develop legal strategies to protect assets, prepare for long-term care, and preserve financial security. He advises clients on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance planning documents, probate avoidance strategies, and estate administration, while also assisting families with Medicaid eligibility and Veterans Affairs benefits. His goal is to help clients make informed decisions that protect their interests and simplify future legal and financial matters.
Ken earned a degree in Government and Management from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, where he served as an intern for US Senator Lawton Chiles. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law. His education, combined with his legal and financial background, provides a strong foundation for advising clients on complex estate planning and elder law matters.
Ken previously served as Senior Vice President in the Personal Trust and Probate Division of UMB Bank before entering private practice, where he gained extensive experience in trust administration, probate, fiduciary responsibilities, and financial planning. This experience allows him to provide practical guidance on asset protection, trust management, and estate administration. He is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and the Missouri Bar Association and is a frequent speaker on estate planning, Medicaid planning, veterans’ resources, financial planning, and probate avoidance for senior organizations and community groups.
