Kelsey McKinney is an associate in Baker Donelson’s Memphis office and a member of the firm’s Advocacy Department. She represents clients in a broad range of litigation matters, including intellectual property disputes, complex business litigation, contractual claims, and municipal defense.

Kelsey earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she served as Acquisitions Editor of the Tennessee Law Review and was also a staff editor for the Tennessee Journal of Race, Gender, and Social Justice. She earned her B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 2018.

Kelsey has drafted pretrial motions, supported complex legal briefs, and participated in intellectual property and technology-related disputes. During law school, she earned multiple awards for excellence in evidence, pretrial litigation, and clinical work. She also helped a small business file a successful trademark application through the UT Legal Clinic.

Kelsey’s background includes a judicial internship with the Honorable Samuel H. Mays of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, where she gained valuable experience in federal judicial processes and litigation strategy.

Kelsey McKinney focuses her growing practice on IP and technology litigation, trademark and branding matters, copyright claims, and commercial litigation. Her work supports clients across industries, navigating legal risks and protecting valuable business interests.
