About
Keith M. Stern is a Miami labor and employment attorney and the principal of his practice. He handles unpaid overtime, minimum wage violations, employment discrimination, retaliation, and employee benefits disputes. His work includes individual and collective wage cases in federal courts. Having represented both management interests earlier in his career and employees in later litigation, he brings experience with employment conflicts from different perspectives.
Keith earned a Bachelor of Science in Business/Management, summa cum laude, from Arizona State University in 1997. He then received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000. In law school, he served as vice president of the Labor and Employment Law Society and as an editor of the Entertainment and Sports Law Review. He received the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement in Employee Benefits Law and honors in litigation skills.
Keith clerked at a plaintiff-side employment practice and at Fisher & Phillips LLP, which represented management. After law school, he worked with Allen Norton & Blue before opening a solo employment practice. He later joined Shavitz Law Group, where he spent approximately a decade litigating overtime and minimum wage claims for thousands of employees. His professional experience includes collective actions in federal courts within and outside Florida.
Keith M. Stern has helped recover more than $50 million for employees in wage, discrimination, and benefits matters. He is admitted to federal district courts in Florida and Colorado and the Sixth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. His recognition includes Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars and an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He applies substantial wage-and-hour litigation experience to workplace disputes.
