Jason E. Piatt

Jason E. Piatt is the founder of Piatt Law and handles litigation in federal and state courts together with client counseling across several legal areas. His practice includes business and corporate matters, municipal law, family law, personal injury, real estate, contracts, construction law, employment law, and appeals. He brings substantial business and technical experience to legal problems, helping companies, public entities, and individuals evaluate disputes, contracts, operational concerns, litigation risks, and strategic decisions that cross legal and commercial boundaries.

Jason earned an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy with Honors from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law. He also holds an M.B.A. with distinction from Mount Saint Mary’s University and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University. His education combines advanced trial training, business study, and engineering, supporting legal work involving technical facts, commercial operations, contracts, litigation, and complex problem solving.

Jason previously worked at a Washington, DC law firm handling complex federal and state litigation and participated in international disputes involving technical and commercial issues. He also worked for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and completed judicial work with federal and state judges. Before law, he owned a consulting business, served as interim CEO for manufacturing companies, and held engineering, sales, marketing, and program-management positions in industry.

Jason E. Piatt has received recognition for pro bono service and professional work, including the Allegheny County Bar Association Pro Bono Law Student of the Year award and citations connected to his legal service. He has taught business, finance, international business, engineering, mathematics, and physics courses and has lectured on business and technical subjects.
