Kate Llaurado Scheidt

Kate Llaurado Scheidt is a Partner at Murphy & Prachthauser, S.C. who represents individuals and families in complex personal injury litigation. Her practice includes product liability, premises liability, construction defect, and catastrophic injury cases. Licensed in Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, and New York, she handles matters involving corporations, manufacturers, and insurance companies. Since joining the firm in 2020, she has tried numerous cases to verdict across Wisconsin and continues to build a broad plaintiffs’ litigation practice.

Kate earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2016 after receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013. In law school, she served as Managing Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review, received the Dean’s Academic Achievement Award, and interned for Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge JoAnne Kloppenburg. This training strengthened the research, writing, appellate, and trial preparation skills central to her litigation work.

Kate previously practiced product liability and catastrophic injury litigation with nationally recognized firms on complex matters around the country. Her experience includes serving on a trial team that obtained a $57 million verdict for a client with a traumatic brain injury in California. She frequently lectures and presents on trial advocacy, product liability, and litigation topics. Her courtroom work and national case experience support strategic preparation in serious injury disputes that require detailed factual and legal development.

Kate Llaurado Scheidt has been recognized as a Wisconsin Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2021 to the present. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Association for Justice and participates in several professional organizations, including the American Association for Justice, Milwaukee Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin, and American Bar Association.
