Justin R. Muehlmeyer is a partner at Peacock Law P.C., where he practices all aspects of intellectual property law and a wide range of commercial and technology transactions. A Registered Patent Attorney, he assists clients with licensing, procurement, acquisitions, confidentiality agreements, and franchising. Mr. Muehlmeyer is an active member of the firm’s Aerospace and Outer Space Practice Group and Dental Practice Group, representing clients in industries including electronics, energy, mechanics, and consumer products.
Mr. Muehlmeyer earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2013. He holds dual B.A. degrees in Physics/Astrophysics and Philosophy of Economics from the University of New Mexico, also graduating cum laude. He is licensed to practice law in New Mexico, admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, and is a Registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Before joining Peacock Law P.C., Mr. Muehlmeyer served as a judicial law clerk to Justice Charles Daniels of the New Mexico Supreme Court, where he worked on complex legal decisions. He has also worked in policy research, tax preparation, and judicial internships, and was a contributor to legal scholarship cited by the New Mexico Supreme Court. At the State Bar, he has chaired the IP Section and leads the annual Pro Bono IP Law Clinic. He also contributes annually to Thomson Reuters’ treatise on Employee Noncompetition Law.
Justin R. Muehlmeyer is an active member of the Licensing Executives Society and has earned multiple honors, including the Judge Oliver Seth Award for Legal and Judicial Ethics. Recognized for his strong command of IP law and practical business insight, he provides strategic counsel that helps clients protect, license, and grow their innovations.
