About
Daniel J. Berenger-Russell is a registered patent attorney at Peacock Law P.C., where he focuses on intellectual property law and litigation. With a strong background in physics, mathematics, and engineering, Daniel supports inventors, startups, and entrepreneurs through all phases of IP protection. His practice includes patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and he brings a hands-on, technically informed approach to helping clients safeguard their innovations and resolve IP disputes.
Daniel earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2024. He holds dual B.S. degrees in Physics and Applied Mathematics, also cum laude, from the University of New Mexico. He is licensed to practice law in New Mexico and is a Registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Before becoming an attorney, Daniel researched dark matter and helped develop cube satellites with the Air Force Research Laboratory. In law school, he was a manuscript editor and published author for the New Mexico Law Review and a member of the inaugural UNM team at the National Patent Application Drafting Competition. He also held leadership positions in the UNM Intellectual Property Society and served as a Student Liaison to the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of New Mexico.
Daniel J. Berenger-Russell’s work has earned him multiple academic honors, including the Corporate and Business Law Excellence Award, and publication in the Intellectual Property Law Review by Thomson Reuters. With a strong foundation in science and legal scholarship, Daniel is committed to guiding inventors through the complexities of intellectual property law while promoting innovation and legal integrity.
