About
Joseph Molina Flynn is a distinguished attorney based in Rhode Island, known for his practice in immigration, family, and criminal law. Since founding his law firm in 2015, he has become a trusted advisor and frequent consultant in the field of “crimmigration,” providing guidance to fellow attorneys on cases involving the overlap of immigration and criminal matters.
Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Johnson & Wales University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Flynn is admitted to practice law in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, including in state and federal courts, and also represents clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
In 2021, Joseph made history by becoming the first openly gay and first formerly undocumented individual appointed as a Municipal Court Judge in the City of Central Falls. His work extends into academia, where he serves as an adjunct professor at Roger Williams University School of Law, teaching a course on crimmigration and contributing to the development of future legal minds.
Joseph has received multiple honors for his work, including recognition from Boston Magazine as a Top Lawyer in Immigration, Rhode Island Monthly for Excellence in the Law (2019–2021), and Super Lawyers as a Rising Star across several years. These accolades highlight his commitment to legal excellence and his leadership in immigrant advocacy.
Joseph Molina Flynn continues to fight for justice through legal representation, public service, and education. His personal journey from undocumented immigrant to attorney and judge inspires his tireless advocacy and compassionate approach to clients facing life-changing legal challenges.
