Stephen Sitkoff

Stephen Sitkoff is a seasoned Los Angeles criminal defense attorney with over three decades of courtroom experience. As a former deputy district attorney, he developed deep expertise in felony DUI, violent crimes, and sex offense prosecutions. Now a partner at Sitkoff & Hanrahan, LLP, he continues to fiercely defend the rights of the accused across Southern California.

Stephen earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1982, making the Dean’s Honor List. He also studied abroad at Emmanuel College of Cambridge University and holds a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA, where he again earned Dean’s List honors. His academic excellence laid a strong foundation for his accomplished legal career.

Beginning in 1983, Stephen served as a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles County, prosecuting a wide range of misdemeanors and felonies. From 1983 to 1994, he became known for prosecuting high-stakes DUI and sex crime cases. His legal acumen earned him an appointment as Commissioner of the Los Angeles County Superior Court for the 1994–1995 term.

In private practice, Stephen leverages his experience as a former prosecutor to aggressively defend clients facing charges including theft, drug crimes, parole violations, and juvenile offenses. He holds an AV® Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, a perfect 10.0 rating on Avvo, and maintains active involvement with the California Judges Association and the Criminal Courts Bar Association.
