Jonathan Sternberg

Jonathan Sternberg is a nationally recognized appellate attorney who has represented clients across the United States in civil and criminal appeals for more than 17 years. He handles high-stakes matters for Fortune 500® companies, businesses, individuals, and families, addressing issues ranging from constitutional challenges to complex litigation. His appellate advocacy is marked by precision, strategic insight, and a deep understanding of procedural and substantive law. Sternberg is also an active leader in appellate-related bar associations at the local, state, and national levels.

Sternberg earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, where he received CALI Awards for excellence in Criminal Procedure and Constitutional Interpretation, and completed an externship with the Federal Public Defender for the Western District of Missouri. He holds a B.A. in History, with honors, from the University of Kansas.

Sternberg opened his appellate practice immediately after graduating from law school in 2007, having already briefed, argued, and won his first appeal while still a student. Since then, he has appeared before state supreme courts, multiple federal circuit courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. His work spans diverse legal areas, including commercial disputes, criminal defense, and constitutional law.
