About

Adam J. Cohen is a member of Pullman & Comley’s Litigation Department, where he focuses on complex commercial litigation and municipal law. He has extensive experience representing towns, boroughs, districts, and private communities across Connecticut. As general counsel to the Connecticut Tax Collectors’ Association, he has successfully recovered tens of millions of dollars in unpaid taxes and assessments.

Adam earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Vassar College in 1995 before completing his Juris Doctor at Cornell Law School, graduating cum laude in 1998. This strong academic background prepared Adam to build a career dedicated to supporting municipal governments, community associations, and private organizations through both litigation and advisory work.

As chair of the firm’s Municipal Law and Community Associations section, Adam drafts ordinances, bylaws, and organizational documents to help towns and community associations operate efficiently. He also modernizes governance structures and advises clients on enforcing obligations within residential and commercial associations.

In addition, Adam contributes to legal education as the editor of Common Interest, the magazine of the Connecticut chapter of the Community Associations Institute, and frequently lectures on legal issues affecting municipalities and associations.

Beyond his practice, Adam J. Cohen has demonstrated a deep commitment to service. He has coordinated pro bono outreach programs, serves on the Connecticut Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee, and sits on the Connecticut Judicial Branch’s Law Library Advisory Committee.

Earlier in his career, Adam was appointed by the mayor of Hamden as a founding member of the Hamden Commission on Human Rights and Relations. Recognized with numerous professional honors, including an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, he remains a trusted leader in municipal and commercial litigation throughout Connecticut.
