John T. Cusack

John T. Cusack is a Partner and Global Co-Chair of the Investment Funds practice and Finance practice. He also serves as a senior member of the Global Board, Executive Committee, and Management team. He brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate and finance law.

John earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from Drew University. He later received his J.D. from George Washington University. His education laid the groundwork for a career centered on sophisticated financial structures and corporate transactions.

John focuses on the structuring and formation of private investment vehicles and their management companies. As co-founder and Global Co-Chair of the Investment Funds practice, he advises clients across the full life cycle of private investment funds. His work covers a wide range of strategies and fund structures.

John also represents sponsors of private equity funds in internal and external matters. His experience includes capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and complex corporate deals. He counsels clients across sectors, including real estate, debt, infrastructure, energy, and growth investments. In addition, he advises on joint ventures, co-investments, and structured investment activities.

John T. Cusack is admitted in Illinois and New York, and before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and New York Bar Association. He has been recognized by The Legal 500 United States as Recommended in Private Equity Funds (including Venture Capital) for 2024.
