John P. Paone Jr.

John P. Paone Jr., Esq., is a founder and senior partner at Paone Zaleski & Murphy, whose practice is devoted to divorce, child custody, and family law. He is a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney and has more than 40 years of experience representing families in complex matrimonial matters. His work includes high-net-worth divorce, equitable distribution, spousal support, parenting disputes, relocation, domestic violence, and post-judgment issues. He has handled hundreds of family law matters throughout New Jersey.

Mr. Paone earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Law Review. He earned his B.A. from Rutgers University. His academic background and law review experience provided a foundation for a career focused on matrimonial litigation, legal writing, appellate issues, and complex family disputes.

Mr. Paone has held numerous leadership positions within New Jersey’s family law community. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Attorneys and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has served as president of the Middlesex County Bar Association and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has also chaired the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section and served on several New Jersey Supreme Court committees.
