John Morrison

John Morrison is a partner at Morrison Sherwood Wilson & Deola, PLLP, with a practice spanning insurance litigation, product liability, class actions, serious personal injury law and property damage, business disputes, and constitutional matters. He has tried numerous cases to verdict and judgment in state and federal courts and has handled significant appellate matters. He brings extensive experience with insurance, health care, and consumer-related litigation across Montana and federal forums.

John earned his J.D. from the University of Denver, where he was named best oral advocate, served as an associate law review editor, and was a top speaker in a national trial competition. He earned his B.A. from Whitman College, where he was a varsity athlete, national debate finalist, and student body vice-president. He also studied at the Institute of Economic and Political Studies in London and University of Oxford.

John is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and has served as President of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association. He also served as Special Assistant Attorney General and chief Montana counsel in the tobacco litigation. His work has included major insurance, product liability, class action, medical malpractice, and appellate matters, as well as representation before the Montana Supreme Court and federal appellate courts.

John Morrison is admitted before the Montana Supreme Court, the US District Court for the District of Montana, several federal appellate courts, the US Court of Federal Claims, and the US Supreme Court. He has served on the Montana Bar Ethics Committee and held leadership roles with the American Board of Trial Advocates. His practice combines trial preparation, appellate advocacy, insurance knowledge, and strategic handling of high-stakes civil disputes for clients.
