Jeri L. Abrams is an employment lawyer and shareholder at Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla, P.C., who counsels employers on workplace compliance, executive arrangements, and personnel decisions. She drafts and negotiates employment, consulting, restrictive covenant, commission, bonus, retention, change-in-control, and severance agreements. She advises employers on hiring, discipline, termination, medical and family leave, disability accommodations, discrimination, retaliation, wage rules, and workforce reductions. She works with management, in-house counsel, and human resources teams to develop policies and handbooks suited to each organization.
Jeri earned her B.B.A., summa cum laude, from George Washington University in 1987. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 1990 and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She was admitted to practice in Illinois in 1990 and New Jersey in 1991. She later built a career focused on employment counseling and joined the organization as a shareholder in 2015. She now serves as co-chair of its Labor and Employment practice.
Jeri advises clients on employment issues arising from mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, reorganizations, and other corporate transactions. She has represented companies during plant closures, staff relocations, and multi-stage workforce reductions involving hundreds of employees. She has guided private equity firms and corporate boards through executive hiring, compensation, contract negotiations, and sensitive terminations. She has also conducted employment-law audits for large employers operating across numerous states.

She has written about severance obligations, employee leave, arbitration provisions, whistleblower protections, paid sick leave, and workplace policy developments. She was selected as a Monmouth County Top Lawyer in 2018 and again in 2021. She remains active in professional organizations, including the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association, while helping employers address legal risk and organizational change.
