Jennifer began her academic journey at the College of Charleston, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish with minors in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Biology. During her undergraduate years, Jennifer studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she deepened her engagement with immigrant communities. She also served as a delegate for the Model Organization of American States, presenting proposals on rural education. These formative experiences ignited her passion for immigration and human rights.

Jennifer earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2011, further broadening her perspective through study in Costa Rica with Santa Clara Law School. There, she worked with a refugee nonprofit affiliated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, assisting persecuted individuals seeking protection. She also interned with Catholic Charities Immigration Center, focusing on U visas and VAWA petitions for victims of abuse.

After law school, Jennifer practiced immigration law with a general practice firm in Charlotte before establishing her own practice in 2015. As the owner of Strang Immigration Law, she is licensed in North Carolina and actively participates in the North Carolina Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
