Jayna Voss is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Legacy Law Firm in Sioux Falls, where she leads the firm while maintaining an estate planning practice. She works with individuals, families, high-net-worth clients, and family business owners on complex estate plans, wealth transfer strategies, business planning, trusts, and asset protection. Her role also includes guiding long-term firm development and evaluating evolving planning techniques that can improve client service and planning outcomes.
Jayna graduated with highest honors from South Dakota State University with a degree in Business Economics and a minor in Accounting. She earned her law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1995, where she served as a Teaching Assistant and Editor-in-Chief of the South Dakota Law Review. After graduation, she clerked for Judge Roger L. Wollman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Jayna began her career in general business law before focusing on estate planning and related practice areas. She has extensive experience preparing and implementing complex estate plans, wealth transfer strategies, and business planning arrangements for family-owned companies. Her work also includes dynasty trusts, asset protection, succession issues, and planning for clients with significant or closely held assets. She is admitted in South Dakota, Iowa, North Dakota, and federal courts.
Jayna Voss is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the American Bar Foundation, an Accredited Estate Planner, and an AV Preeminent rated attorney. She has also been recognized by Best Lawyers and Great Plains Super Lawyers for trusts and estates work. Her practice combines technical planning knowledge with business perspective, helping clients protect assets, prepare for transitions, and create plans aligned with family and business priorities.
