Jay Logsdon is a committed criminal defense, lawsuits & disputes lawyer with over 13 years of experience in public defense. Known for his litigation work and leadership, he has served in various roles that helped ensure fair legal representation for countless individuals. His legal practice reflects a deep commitment to justice and service.
Jay began his academic journey at the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and German in 2005. He continued his legal education at Boston University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2011. He also furthered his training at the National Criminal Defense College, sharpening his courtroom and defense strategies.
Jay entered the legal profession as an intern with the Office of the Public Defender of Kootenai County in 2011, quickly transitioning into a full-time role as Deputy Public Defender. Over seven years, he defended individuals across a broad range of criminal cases. His dedication and courtroom strength led to his promotion to Chief Deputy – Litigation in 2018.
Jay was later appointed Interim Chief Public Defender in 2024, a role in which he guided litigation teams and ensured effective legal support for the public. His consistent performance and legal insight led to his current role, where he continues to advocate for justice and fairness in the courtroom and beyond.
