James T. Murphy

James T. Murphy is a skilled business attorney with over two decades of legal experience across Florida. He focuses on business litigation, contract law, corporate governance, and civil disputes. With a background in public prosecution and private defense, he brings a sharp trial acumen to complex business matters and long-term counsel strategies.

James began his legal journey after earning his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1998. That same year, he joined the Florida Bar and started serving as an Assistant State Attorney, representing the state in numerous bench and jury trials.

In 2002, James transitioned into private practice, advocating for physicians in medical malpractice cases. His work during this time demonstrated a strong understanding of technical litigation and complex legal defense. In 2005, he shifted his focus to business litigation, expanding his practice to help companies manage and prevent legal disputes.

Since then, James has served as general counsel for small and medium-sized businesses across Florida. His clients range from solo operations to companies with up to 150 employees. He has drafted and negotiated operating agreements, shareholder agreements, partnership deals, and more. His legal support has helped business owners limit risk and control legal costs.
