About
David A. Fernandez is a seasoned attorney with over three decades of experience in civil law, consumer protection, and debt litigation. Since founding The Law Office of David A. Fernandez, P.C. in 2009, he has represented clients in complex debt negotiations, creditor lawsuits, and business litigation. His earlier firm, founded in 1992, grew rapidly to handle hundreds of clients annually and achieved multimillion-dollar settlements in tort litigation.
David earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984 and his Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University in 1989. He is a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Fraternity. Before launching his legal practice, he served as a legislative aide to Texas State Senator Gene Green and was active in political campaigns. His background in policy and advocacy shaped his client-centered, justice-driven approach to law.
From the early 1980s, David engaged in political organizing and social causes, including managing winning campaigns for local candidates. In the 1990s, he also served as an adjunct professor of political science and criminal procedure. After selling his practice in 2002, he spent four years volunteering and studying in Latin America and Europe, gaining cross-cultural insights that further informed his advocacy.
Now based in Houston, David A. Fernandez focuses on debt defense, bankruptcy, fraud, personal injury, and wrongful death. His firm offers personalized legal strategies for clients facing creditor actions and financial hardship. With a strong record in litigation and negotiation, he continues to uphold the rights of individuals and small businesses throughout Texas.
