James D. Boggs is a veteran trial attorney and founding partner of Boggs Law Firm, L.L.C., where he focuses on complex litigation and advocacy. Since beginning private practice in 1975, he has earned a reputation for skilled courtroom representation and unwavering dedication to his clients.
James received his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 1975. This strong academic foundation laid the groundwork for a distinguished legal career spanning nearly five decades of trial practice and public service in Missouri’s legal community.
In 1988, James opened his own practice and, in 2007, partnered with his son Christian Boggs to establish the Boggs Law Firm, L.L.C. Together, they have built a firm grounded in integrity, client advocacy, and trial excellence, serving individuals and families throughout Missouri.
James has held numerous leadership positions in the legal field, including serving as President of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Missouri Bar. His expertise has also been shared through his work as a lecturer at the Missouri Bar Trial Advocacy Institute.
James currently serves on the Missouri Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee and is widely recognized for his contributions to the legal profession. His accolades include the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s highest award for professional gallantry and the Missouri Bar President’s Award for outstanding service to the profession.
