About

Jack B. Blumenfeld is widely recognized as one of the nation’s foremost intellectual property litigators, with over four decades of trial and appellate experience. Known as the “dean of the Delaware IP Bar,” he has handled thousands of cases involving patents, trade secrets, and complex technology disputes. His practice covers pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, software, telecommunications, and medical products, where he has served as lead counsel, Delaware counsel, and co-counsel in high-exposure matters.

Blumenfeld earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1977 after receiving his B.A. in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany in 1974. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Walter K. Stapleton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Admitted to practice in Delaware since 1979, he is also admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Over his distinguished career, Blumenfeld has represented leading global companies such as Pfizer, Amgen, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Comcast, and Google in high-profile intellectual property disputes. He has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and tried cases in district courts across the country. His ability to combine technical insight with litigation strategy has made him a trusted advocate in some of the most complex patent and trade secret cases in recent decades.

Jack B. Blumenfeld’s leadership has been recognized by numerous honors, including listings in The Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who Legal: Patents, and induction into the Lawdragon Hall of Fame. He has consistently been ranked as a top Delaware IP lawyer by peers and publications. In addition to his legal practice, he has contributed to the profession and community through service in Bar associations, advisory committees, and nonprofit organizations, reflecting his commitment to both law and public service.
