J. Scott Reed

J. Scott Reed is a Partner at Pilka Adams & Reed, P.A., and has represented clients in Central Florida since 1997. His practice covers elder law, wills and trusts, probate administration, estate planning law, real estate, title insurance, and commercial transactions. He also handles mortgage lending, contracts, restrictive covenants, homeowner association matters, quiet title actions, leasing, landlord-tenant issues, foreclosures, business organizations, mergers and acquisitions, and residential and commercial purchase and sale transactions.

Scott earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, where he made the Dean’s List, participated in Moot Court, and received a high grade in a Construction Law Seminar. He earned his B.S. from Oral Roberts University with majors in Business Administration and History. His undergraduate honors included the President’s List, Dean’s List, and Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. This educational background supports his work across estate, real estate, business, and transactional matters.

Scott has substantial experience with protective proceedings, probate administration, and quiet title matters. His litigation work includes contested guardian appointment proceedings, will contests, actions involving the removal of breaching fiduciaries, and efforts to recover assets in financial exploitation cases. He is also an authorized title agent associated with Old Republic National Title Company and Attorneys’ Title Fund Services, LLC. Through his real estate practice, he has represented and insured hundreds of buyers and sellers in residential and commercial purchases, sales, and financing transactions.

J. Scott Reed is admitted to practice in Florida and before the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. His professional affiliations include The Florida Bar, the Lakeland Bar Association, the Elder Law Section and Real Property, Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, the Polk County Estate Planning Council, and The Lakeland Rotary Club. His community involvement has included board service with The Lakeland Rotary Club, Inc., READ Lakeland, Inc., and the Lakeland Dreadnaughts Booster Club Inc.
