J. Richard Johnson

J. Richard Johnson has been providing clients with strong legal representation since 1978. With extensive experience in litigation, workers’ compensation, personal injury, and insurance law, he is known for helping individuals navigate complex legal challenges. Richard earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Marietta College in 1974. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa in 1978. While in law school, he served as Articles Editor for The Journal of Corporation Law, where he authored a well-cited article on the Williams Act and shareholder rights. He was also a member of Phi Delta Phi.

Richard was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1978 and is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa. Over the years, he has represented numerous clients across a wide range of legal issues, earning a reputation for diligent advocacy and practical legal solutions.

Richard maintains active involvement in several professional organizations, including the Linn County and Iowa State Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Iowa Defense Counsel Association and the Iowa Association of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, Inc.
