About
J. Ashwin Madia is the founder of Madia Law LLC and is known for his fearless approach to fighting for justice. He is a dedicated trial lawyer who stands up for individuals facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. He represents people in employment law disputes, civil rights cases, securities litigation, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, and catastrophic personal injuries. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Ashwin is recognized nationwide for his skill in the courtroom and his commitment to giving a strong voice to those who need it most.
Ashwin earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1999. He went on to receive his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2002. As a law student, he fought for battered women, unemployed workers, and immigrants seeking asylum, setting the stage for a lifetime of dedicated advocacy.
After law school, Ashwin joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a judge advocate, where he gained invaluable trial experience by trying over one hundred felony and misdemeanor cases. He defended young Marines facing years in prison and earned praise for securing exceptional outcomes, including one of the first successful defenses based on sexual orientation discrimination. He deployed to Iraq in 2005, working alongside global partners to help establish the rule of law.
J. Ashwin Madia founded Madia Law LLC to make sure individuals have a tough advocate on their side. His cases have covered disability discrimination, racial discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, age discrimination, and police excessive force. Whether in state or federal court, Ashwin remains driven by a single goal: to beat giants in the courtroom and bring justice to those who deserve it most.
