About

Howard Ruddell is a respected partner at Moore Ruddell LLP, known for his wide experience in civil and employment litigation. He represents employees in disputes involving sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, and unpaid wages. He also works on breach of contract cases when employers fail to meet severance or bonus agreements.

With a strong background in both state and federal courts, Howard has handled cases from start to trial and beyond, including appeals. He is skilled in both courtroom litigation and alternative dispute resolution, securing favorable outcomes for his clients through negotiation or trial. His work includes matters involving trade secrets and intellectual property, where he has defended individuals accused of misusing confidential business information.

Howard earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2011. While there, he served as Notes Editor for the Washington University Law Review and was recognized on the Dean’s List. He holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland, where he was also named to the Distinguished Dean’s List.

Before co-founding Moore Ruddell LLP, Howard built his litigation practice at an Am Law 100 firm, where he focused on product liability, complex commercial disputes, and employment law. He has secured significant trial results, including a jury verdict of more than $1.5 million in a defamation case. Howard also represents university and public-sector employees in Equal Pay Act and workplace harassment claims, and has successfully resolved cases involving age and gender discrimination, retaliation, and breach of employment contracts.

Howard Ruddell has a strong commitment to justice beyond his regular practice. He volunteers for pro bono legal work with organizations like The Alliance for Children’s Rights and Bet Tzedek Legal Services. Through these efforts, he has helped underserved individuals, especially youth, receive the legal support they need. Howard continues to be a trusted advocate for employees, working hard to protect their rights and secure fair treatment under the law.
