Harvey B. Morris has built a distinguished legal career since beginning practice in 1966, serving clients across Alabama with skill and dedication. Over the years, he has handled many significant cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance disputes, helping individuals and families secure justice after devastating losses.
Harvey began his studies at the University of Alabama after earning a football scholarship, excelling both on the field and in the classroom. With a clear focus on becoming an attorney, he advanced quickly into law school after three undergraduate years. He earned his J.D. in 1966 and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar the same year.
Harvey first practiced at Smith, Johnston & Walker, concentrating on personal injury, criminal defense, and domestic relations before establishing his own practice. His work has consistently emphasized advocating for accident victims and those harmed by defective products, as well as resolving insurance litigation. His commitment to clients has remained steady for nearly five decades.
Harvey’s peers have recognized his outstanding legal skills through numerous honors. He has received Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent® rating, reflecting the highest standards of ethics and ability. He has been included for many years in Best Lawyers in America and repeatedly selected to Super Lawyers. In addition, he was named North Alabama Lawyer of the Year in both 2016 and 2020.
Harvey’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. He served as president of the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association in the early 1980s and is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor limited to a small percentage of lawyers across the United States and Canada. His membership in professional organizations such as the Alabama Association for Justice and National Trial Lawyers further demonstrates his commitment to advancing the practice of law.
