About

Guy Choate focuses on personal injury litigation and has spent his career standing up for injured people and grieving families. He works to hold insurance companies, corporations, drunk drivers, and other negligent parties accountable. His approach is built on fairness, responsibility, and the belief that safer communities follow when wrongdoers answer for harm.

Guy earned a B.A. from Angelo State University in 1975, where he graduated Cum Laude. He later earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center in 1978. While there, he received honors through the Order of the Barons Honor Society, reflecting his strong academic preparation for legal practice.

Guy was admitted to the Texas bar in 1979 and has built a practice devoted fully to litigation. He is certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, first recognized in 1985 and re-certified many times afterward. That long record shows steady skill and deep commitment to this field.

Guy has handled serious injury matters with a focus on accountability and public safety. He believes people and businesses should be responsible when their choices cause lasting damage. By pressing claims against careless parties, he helps families seek compensation after life-changing events and supports efforts that can make roads and homes safer.

Guy is also known across Texas for leadership in the legal profession. He served as president of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association during the 2005 Legislative Session and later became President of the Texas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He also served as an Executive Committee member of the State Bar of Texas.

Guy has shared his experience for years as a speaker on personal injury law and ethics. He has spoken at State Bar continuing education programs and for trial lawyer groups across the United States. His honors include an “AV” Rating, Martindale-Hubbell, Super Lawyer recognition, and the State Bar of Texas Presidential Citation.

Guy Choate is respected for combining determination, integrity, and courtroom ability in every case he handles. He has remained focused on helping injured people pursue justice while encouraging higher standards of care. Through litigation, leadership, and teaching, he has worked to protect families and promote accountability in Texas communities.
