Gregory M. Bopp serves as Managing Partner and is widely respected for his leadership and strategic insight in complex corporate matters. He has extensive experience in corporate M&A and capital markets transactions, particularly in the energy sector. Over the past two decades, he has played a key role in many of the industry’s largest and most significant transactions.
Gregory earned his B.B.A. in Accounting in 1989 from The University of Texas at Austin. He later received his J.D., magna cum laude, in 1995 from South Texas College of Law – Houston, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the South Texas Law Review. His academic background in accounting and law provides a strong foundation for handling sophisticated tax and transaction structures.
Gregory has been recognized by Chambers USA for Texas Tax, 2009 – 2025, and Texas Corporate/M&A, 2007 – 2013. Legal 500 United States has ranked him across multiple categories, including Tax – US Taxes: Non-Contentious, Energy: Transactions, and Mergers & Acquisitions. Gregory M. Bopp is known for his role in major energy transactions, including representing Kinder Morgan, Inc. in its $76 billion acquisition of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, Kinder Morgan Management, and El Paso Pipeline Partners, earning him recognition as a Dealmaker of the Year by The American Lawyer. He continues to advise on complex MLP, tax, and M&A matters while contributing to industry discussions through publications and speaking engagements.
