Daniel S. Connolly

Daniel S. Connolly is Managing Partner of Bracewell LLP’s New York office, which he helped launch in 2005. He represents clients in the banking, construction, and pharmaceutical industries. He focuses on white collar defense, regulatory compliance investigations, bankruptcy matters, class actions, and complex commercial litigation.

Daniel earned his Juris Doctor from the American University School of Law in 1988, cum laude, and served as Managing Editor of the Administrative Law Journal. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College in 1985, with honors.

Daniel regularly appears before federal and New York State trial and appellate courts. He represents clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General, as well as state enforcement agencies.

Daniel advises major corporations and senior executives in criminal and regulatory matters. He also serves as a compliance and ethics advisor to companies and boards of directors across the finance and pharmaceutical sectors. His work includes internal investigations and government enforcement defense.

Daniel began his career as a prosecutor in the Office of the Manhattan District Attorney, where he served for eight years. He tried more than 60 cases to verdict, including homicides and complex criminal matters. He later served as counsel in the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York.
