George R. Lyle

George R. Lyle is a shareholder at Guess & Rudd PC in Anchorage whose practice focuses on oil and gas law, environmental law, environmental insurance coverage, natural resources law, mining law, and commercial law. Lyle advises clients on regulatory and commercial issues affecting resource development and represents parties in litigation involving environmental obligations, insurance coverage, property rights, taxation, and other disputes tied to Alaska’s natural resources and industrial activities.

Lyle earned a J.D. from Lewis and Clark College Northwestern School of Law in 1984, graduating cum laude and receiving a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. He earned a B.A. in Earth Science from Dartmouth College in 1980. That combination of legal and scientific education provides a strong foundation for evaluating technical environmental issues, resource development questions, regulatory requirements, and the insurance and commercial consequences that can arise from environmental claims.
