About

Noah I. Star is an environmental lawyer and associate with Sonosky, Chambers, Sachse, Miller & Monkman, LLP in Anchorage. He works within a firm focused on Native American and Alaska Native interests, including tribal sovereignty, self-determination, natural resources, administrative matters, and complex civil litigation. Noah brings prior Alaska government and private-practice experience to legal issues involving public agencies, resource management, tribal interests, and disputes that require close attention to administrative records and state law.

Noah earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and a B.A., cum laude, from Northwestern University. His academic background was followed by a judicial clerkship with Justice Jennifer Stuart Henderson of the Alaska Supreme Court. That combination of legal education and appellate court experience provided training in legal research, written analysis, statutory interpretation, and the review of complex records, all of which support his work on public-law, natural resources, and litigation matters.

Noah served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Alaska Department of Law Civil Division, including work as a Civil Division Fellow and in the Natural Resources Section. He later joined Landye Bennett Blumstein LLP, where his practice included natural resources law, fisheries law, Alaska Native law, administrative law, and civil litigation. In 2025 he joined Sonosky, Chambers, Sachse, Miller & Monkman, LLP, adding that state-government and Alaska resource-law experience to the firm’s representation of tribal clients and organizations.

Noah I. Star is an Alaska lawyer whose experience spans appellate work, state government, natural resources, administrative law, and private practice. He has also participated in continuing legal education on Alaska real estate case law and has handled matters involving state regulatory and resource questions. His background supports careful analysis of government decisions, complex records, and overlapping legal authorities while helping clients address disputes and regulatory issues with practical, well-researched advocacy.
