Fernando M. Bustos is an accomplished attorney and President of Bustos Law Firm, P.C., where he focuses on federal litigation, commercial law, employment disputes, intellectual property, and civil rights cases. He began his legal career as a briefing attorney for Judge Sam R. Cummings of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, gaining valuable insight into judicial reasoning and complex federal litigation.

Bustos earned his B.A. in International Relations, with a minor in Spanish, from Brigham Young University’s Kennedy School of International Studies, and his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law. During law school, he earned a full Board of Regents’ Scholarship, served on the State Moot Court Team, and graduated with distinction, establishing a strong foundation in legal writing, advocacy, and constitutional law.

Over his extensive career, Bustos has represented clients in groundbreaking cases, securing major victories in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Texas Seventh Court of Appeals, and federal district courts nationwide. His experience includes multimillion-dollar settlements, constitutional challenges, and complex commercial disputes. He also served as Chairman of the Federal Court Advisory Committee and President of the Lubbock Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

In addition to his litigation practice, Fernando M. Bustos has contributed to legal scholarship through published works in the Texas Tech Law Review and has taught Civil Rights Law and Negotiation as an adjunct professor. His extensive courtroom experience, academic contributions, and leadership in the legal community reflect a career devoted to excellence, advocacy, and advancing justice in Texas and beyond.
