About
Brian Craft has built a respected reputation through nearly thirty years of practice in both state and federal courts throughout East Texas. Known for his sharp legal insight and disciplined approach, he combines his transactional and trial experience to guide clients through complex cases with clarity, professionalism, and unwavering attention to detail.
Brian earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Abilene Christian University in 1981 before completing his J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law in 1984. His education provided the foundation for his deep understanding of both business and legal principles, equipping him to effectively advise and represent clients across multiple industries and case types.
Brian focuses his practice primarily on trial law, including patent litigation, employment disputes, and commercial matters. Having served as local counsel for major national and international companies, he has extensive experience navigating the Eastern District of Texas—one of the nation’s most active patent litigation venues. His work in this field offers clients a rare combination of local insight and national perspective.
Brian also maintains a strong focus on employment and commercial litigation. He frequently represents employers in labor-related disputes and provides strategic guidance to help clients prevent legal issues before they arise. His commercial practice includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters involving governmental civil rights, contracts, real estate, and wills and estates. His transactional background further supports his ability to address intricate business and property-related issues with precision.
Brian Craft is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Federal Circuits, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas. A member of the State Bar of Texas Labor and Employment Law Section, the Smith County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, and the Society for Human Resource Management, he continues to exemplify excellence in Texas litigation.
