Ethan Chase

Ethan Chase is a co-founder and attorney at Reczek Chase Law, PLLC in Louisville, Kentucky. With a strong foundation in family law, public interest litigation, and appellate advocacy, Ethan is known for using his legal skills to serve clients across the Commonwealth with care, precision, and impact. His work is guided by a core principle: to make a meaningful difference through hard work and public service.

Ethan holds a B.A. from Berea College and earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Journal for Animal & Environmental Law. He also holds a Certificate in Family Conflict Mediation from the Haile College of Business at Northern Kentucky University.

Ethan Chase’s legal journey includes diverse experience across Kentucky’s legal landscape. He began at a statewide law firm representing clients in contract and personal injury disputes. He then served hundreds of family law clients through the Legal Aid Society before joining the Kentucky Supreme Court as Staff Attorney to Justice Debra H. Lambert, where he handled appeals in family, criminal, and civil law.

Today, Ethan remains an active advocate for families in the Jefferson County Courts, serving as both a Guardian ad Litem and Friend of the Court. He also teaches Gender Law & Policy at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, where he trains the next generation of inclusive, equity-focused legal professionals.

Ethan is an active member of the Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association (serving as Vice Chair of the Human Rights Section), LGBTQ Family Law Institute, and the National LGBT Bar Association. His work in LGBTQ+ family law includes parentage, adoption, domestic violence, and assisted reproduction matters.

Ethan Chase’s honors include Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2024–2025), Top 10 Under 40 in Kentucky by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, and Reader’s Choice Attorney in LEO Weekly for 2022–2024. He is a dedicated advocate, educator, and servant-leader in Kentucky’s legal community.
