Lisa Marquis is a seasoned family law attorney with over three decades of legal experience. Known for her client-centered approach, she focuses on collaborative divorce, contested divorce, custody disputes, and visitation issues. Her extensive work in family law reflects a deep commitment to minimizing conflict while protecting clients’ interests and family dynamics.
Lisa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Texas in 1988. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor, also with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law in 1991. She is licensed to practice in Texas and was previously admitted to the Arizona Bar, now inactive.
Lisa began her legal journey in 1991 as a litigation attorney at Streich Lang in Phoenix. In 1994, she transitioned to tax law at Johnson & Gibbs in Dallas before turning to family law in 1995. She co-founded Easley & Marquis in 1997 and later partnered in founding Hanshaw Kennedy Marquis. Throughout these roles, she built a strong reputation for leadership and legal excellence.
Lisa has led more than 130 collaborative divorce cases and is known for reducing courtroom conflict even in contested matters. Her approach prioritizes the well-being of children and supports families through emotionally difficult transitions. Her strategic use of collaborative law methods, even in litigation, sets her apart in her field.
Lisa has received multiple accolades, including being named to The Best Lawyers in America® (2019–2025) and Texas Super Lawyers (2022–2023). She has served as President of the Collin County Bar Association and Chair of the Collin County Bench/Bar Foundation. She has also been a speaker and course director at collaborative law conferences throughout Texas.
