Esmeralda Santos

Esmeralda Santos is an immigration lawyer and the founder of Santos Immigration Law, LLC. Her practice focuses on helping immigrant families navigate complex immigration matters in the United States. Ms. Santos has handled a wide range of immigration cases, including asylum applications, removal defense, and humanitarian relief matters. Through her work, she provides clear legal guidance and dedicated representation to individuals and families facing challenging immigration situations.

Ms. Santos earned her J.D. with a concentration in Social Justice Lawyering from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 2013. She also holds a B.A., Cum Laude, from California State University, Fresno, where she studied Philosophy and Chicano and Latin American Studies. Her academic training focused on social justice and advocacy, preparing her to work on legal issues affecting immigrant and underserved communities.

Ms. Santos has represented individuals in complex immigration cases, including asylum and cancellation of removal, throughout her legal career. She previously worked as an associate at a private immigration firm in Fresno, California, where she focused on removal defense and asylum matters. She also served as a staff attorney in the unaccompanied minors program. She worked with the San Francisco Immigrant Legal Defense Collaborative, a network of organizations providing legal services to immigrant communities.

Esmeralda Santos has represented clients from several countries in asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases. She also worked with a national nonprofit organization that protects the rights of immigrant and refugee children, providing direct legal representation to unaccompanied minors. In addition to representing clients, she provides training and mentorship to attorneys, volunteers, and legal professionals on asylum and SIJS matters.
