Kendra Jimenez Baughman focuses her legal career on immigration law and the protection of immigrant communities. Raised with strong immigrant family roots, she developed a deep commitment to advocacy and fairness. Her work centers on guiding individuals through complex immigration processes while ensuring their rights and voices are represented.
Kendra earned a B.A. in Human Services from Western Washington University before pursuing an M.A. in Intercultural Youth and Family Development at the University of Montana. She later completed her J.D. at the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2014 with a concentration in immigration law.
Kendra received the Jerrold L. Walden Memorial Award during law school, recognizing her dedication to civil liberties and her quiet efforts to advance them. The honor reflects her commitment to justice and her consistent focus on protecting the rights of vulnerable communities through meaningful legal advocacy.
Kendra gained early experience serving immigrant and refugee communities through social services and community organizing. She worked as an English as a Second Language (ESL) and Naturalization teacher while also advocating for human rights initiatives. Her work included leadership involvement with the New Mexico American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) board.
Kendra also contributed legal support to immigrant workers and families during her internship with Colorado Legal Services Migrant Farmworker Division. In this role, she assisted agricultural workers and sheepherders seeking legal protection and access to justice. She additionally volunteered with detained women and children to help them understand their rights.
Kendra has represented individuals before Immigration Court (EOIR) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Her work includes preparing immigrants for Department of State processing worldwide and guiding clients through complex immigration matters. She is committed to ensuring immigrant communities receive fair and dedicated legal advocacy.
