Ellen R. Sutliffe Hain is an associate at Cohen and Wolf, P.C., where she focuses her practice on elder law, trusts and estates, and tax. She assists individuals and families in achieving their estate planning goals while preserving assets for future generations. She also helps clients navigate the complexities of long-term care planning, including conservatorships, supplemental needs trusts, and Medicaid applications. Known for her thoughtful approach, Ms. Hain regularly guides clients through difficult planning decisions with clarity and care.
Ms. Hain earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2015, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal. She received multiple graduation awards, including Clinical Excellence and Service to the Community, and was inducted into Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Hofstra University, with concentrations in English, Religion, and Political Science, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
In her practice, Ms. Hain represents fiduciaries in the administration of inter vivos and testamentary trusts and estates, appearing regularly in Connecticut Probate Courts. She also prepares wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives tailored to her clients’ unique needs. Her experience spans both proactive planning for asset protection and urgent action to access public benefits, giving her a comprehensive understanding of elder law and estate administration.
