Elizabeth A. Raba is an attorney in Longmont, Colorado, who serves in an of counsel role and focuses primarily on legal research and writing. Elizabeth completed her undergraduate degree in English at Vassar College in 1983, finishing her studies in three years. She earned a Master of Arts in English from the University of Northern Colorado in 1989 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School in 1995. During graduate school, she taught writing courses and helped establish the English Graduate Student Association. In law school, she tutored students in Civil Procedure and Torts.
Elizabeth began her legal career as a clerk for Judge Morris W. Sandstead, Jr. of the Boulder District Court while he handled civil cases. She researched legal issues, drafted court opinions, and served as bailiff during proceedings. She later developed a family law practice, became a partner, and served clients across four counties from offices in Longmont and Greeley. After several years of litigation work, she returned to part-time practice with an emphasis on research and writing.
Elizabeth A. Raba received academic recognition that included membership in the Order of the Coif, the Legal Aid Award, and placement on the Dean’s List. She served as president of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, coordinated the 1994 Women in the Law Day, and reached the semifinals of the Rothgerber Moot Court competition. Her research experience also includes assisting Professor Carol Glowinsky with a domestic relations casebook, adding to her background in family law and legal writing.
