Michael P. Kelton

Michael P. Kelton is the Attorney and Managing Member of Kelton Law, P.A., serving clients in Deltona, DeLand, and surrounding Volusia County communities. His practice covers real estate, business law and contracts, estate planning, bankruptcy and foreclosure, personal injury, wrongful death, and criminal defense. He advises individuals, property owners, entrepreneurs, and businesses on both transactional and litigation matters, drawing on years of experience handling disputes, planning concerns, and other legal issues that affect clients’ personal and commercial interests.

Michael earned a B.B.A. and M.B.A. from Stetson University and a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law. His business education complements his legal training and supports his work with companies, entrepreneurs, property owners, and individuals facing financial or transactional concerns. That background helps him evaluate legal issues with attention to both practical and financial consequences while guiding clients through matters involving business formation, contracts, property, estate planning, and other significant decisions.

Michael began his legal career in North Palm Beach, where he gained experience litigating complex medical malpractice, personal injury, and insurance defense cases. He later returned to Volusia County and joined Paul & Elkind, P.A., first as an associate and later as a partner. During more than thirteen years with the firm, he represented hundreds of clients in thousands of cases across varied practice areas. His experience also included serving as attorney for the City of DeLand’s Historic Preservation Board and prosecuting city ordinance violations.

Michael P. Kelton founded Kelton Law, P.A. in 2020 after years of litigation and general practice experience. He continues to handle matters involving real estate, business transactions and disputes, wills and trusts, probate, bankruptcy, foreclosure, personal injury, and wrongful death. His practice reflects a broad understanding of legal issues that can intersect with property, finances, business operations, and family planning. He focuses on helping clients understand their options, protect their interests, and move through legal matters with practical guidance.
