About
Elena Kau‘i Yamane is a skilled personal injury attorney with Leavitt, Yamane & Soldner, representing individuals harmed through negligence across Hawaii. Her practice is strengthened by years of trial experience and a passion for advocacy that began early in her career. She is dedicated to achieving meaningful results for her clients and their families.
Kau‘i earned her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s William S. Richardson School of Law in 2010, graduating with certificates in Native Hawaiian Law and Environmental Law. Her time in law school included active involvement in the Native Hawai‘i Student Organization and mentoring high school students in mock trial competitions.
Kau began her legal career as a deputy prosecutor in Honolulu’s Department of the Prosecuting Attorney. In that role, she handled felony indictments, preliminary hearings, and jury trials involving both felony and domestic violence cases. This demanding work provided her with extensive courtroom experience and refined her ability to present strong cases on behalf of victims.
After nearly four years as a prosecutor, Kau‘i continued her commitment to justice in Washington, DC, where she served with the Volunteer Lawyer Project. There, she helped survivors of domestic violence obtain protective orders and safeguard their rights. Returning to Hawai‘i in 2020, she joined Leavitt, Yamane & Soldner, where she applies her prosecutorial background to the practice of personal injury law.
Elena Kau‘i Yamane advocates for clients with dedication and compassion, helping them recover damages and find closure after serious accidents. Her diverse legal background and client-focused approach make her a trusted advocate within the firm and the broader Hawaii community.
