Cheryl L. Graves

Cheryl L. Graves is the co-founder, managing partner, and principal of Farley & Graves, P.C. She focuses her practice on civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance personal injury, insurance coverage, and employment law corporate defense. She also represents international and domestic insurers in a wide range of matters involving personal injury, automobile liability, property claims, and casualty defense. With nearly three decades of litigation experience, Graves is recognized for her thorough preparation, strong advocacy, and successful results in complex cases.

Graves earned her B.A. in Political Science and Economy from the University of Washington before completing her J.D. at Gonzaga University School of Law in 1995. She was admitted to the Washington State Bar that same year and to the Alaska State Bar in 1997. She is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Washington and the District of Alaska, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Graves’s practice includes extensive experience in maritime and admiralty claims, casualty investigations, and litigation involving both domestic and international insurers. She has tried and defended cases in state and federal courts involving maritime casualties, automobile liability, property loss, and general personal injury. Her skill in handling complex investigations and navigating the interplay of federal and state law has made her a trusted advocate for corporate and insurance clients.

Cheryl L. Graves is active in numerous professional organizations, including the Alaska Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, and Defense Research Institute. She currently serves as President of the Defense Counsel of Alaska and is also a member of the Defense Counsel of Washington and the Marine Insurance Association of Seattle. Her leadership roles and active engagement in the legal community reflect her commitment to advancing the practice of defense litigation.
