Edward J. Nuttall

Edward J. Nuttall is a partner and experienced trial attorney serving clients across Virginia and Washington, DC. He focuses on criminal defense, personal injury, and family law. His practice includes a wide range of cases, from traffic matters to serious criminal charges and civil disputes.

Edward earned his J.D. from Catholic University School of Law in 1996 and a B.A. from Catholic University in 1990. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Edward has tried both civil and criminal cases throughout his career. As a former prosecutor, he has strong courtroom experience and handles cases involving DUI, reckless driving, domestic assault, and serious felonies, including financial crimes, violent crimes, and sex offenses.

Edward also represents clients in personal injury and family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation, and support. He is known for his litigation skills and ability to manage complex cases while guiding clients through difficult legal situations.

Edward has received Martindale Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating and has been recognized among the Top 100 Criminal Defense Attorneys by the National Trial Lawyers Association. He has also been named a Top Lawyer by Northern Virginia Magazine and Washingtonian Magazine.

Edward has served as general counsel to the Fraternal Order of Police Fairfax Lodge 77 and has represented law enforcement in numerous police shooting cases. He also teaches and lectures on legal topics, including at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy.
