Edward J. Coyne

Edward J. Coyne brings more than two decades of criminal law experience to his defense practice, having previously served as a successful prosecutor. Edward earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Mount St. Mary’s University, graduating Cum Laude. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. This strong academic foundation supports his analytical approach in complex legal matters.

Edward has handled a broad spectrum of criminal trials, including cases of arson, robbery, drug distribution, homicide, attempted murder, and carjacking. Edward has also contributed to digital forensics by assisting FBI digital forensic examiners and computer scientists. He played a vital role in Carroll County’s legal community, including co-founding the Drug Treatment Court and earning two nominations for the judicial short list by the Carroll County Judicial Nominating Commission.
