Sullivan began his legal career with the Texas Attorney General’s Office, representing the state in federal district courts across Texas and handling numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He then served as a law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Marcia A. Crone in the Southern District of Texas. In 2002, he joined Seyfarth Shaw LLP, handling some of the firm’s most complex labor and employment cases, and became the youngest partner in the 600+ attorney firm in 2005. In 2010, he co-founded Oberti Sullivan LLP to provide top-tier employment law representation in Houston.
Ed Sullivan has achieved significant victories, including arguing and winning the U.S. Supreme Court case Hewitt v. Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc., and securing one of the largest single-plaintiff retaliation verdicts in the Southern District of Texas.
