Douglas Riddell

Douglas Riddell is an Ohio criminal defense lawyer and the founder of Riddell Law LLC who focuses on DUI/OVI, misdemeanor, and traffic charges. He founded his practice after working as a public defender in Franklin County Municipal Court and as a private criminal defense lawyer with boutique firms in the Columbus area. He represents clients in county, municipal, and mayor’s courts throughout Ohio, using a pragmatic, proactive approach to defend clients facing serious criminal and traffic allegations.

Riddell earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame. He is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the US District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio. His background includes substantial extensive courtroom work involving OVI, traffic violations, and misdemeanor charges, giving him experience with jury trials, bench trials, and motion hearings statewide regularly.

Riddell represents clients charged with DUI/OVI, speeding, reckless driving, domestic violence, theft, drug offenses, underage drinking, resisting arrest, criminal damaging, disorderly conduct, probation violations, and other misdemeanor or traffic offenses. He also represents commercial drivers facing CDL and trucking violations. He is certified in the approved curriculum for DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, training designed for standard roadside sobriety testing and also required of Ohio police officers statewide.
